The 2025 World Chinese Language Conference was held from November 14 to 16 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. On the morning of November 15, a plaque presentation ceremony for the newly established Confucius Institutes in 2025 was held during the special session titled “Inheritance and Development ofthe Confucius Institute —Stride into a New 20 Years.” Wang Feng, Vice President of Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), and Ioannis Venetis, Vice Rector of the University of Patras, attended the ceremony and received the“Confucius Institute at the University of Patras” plaque presented by Yang Wei, President of the Chinese International Education Foundation. Zhang Bing, Director of BUCT’s International Exchange and Cooperation Department, along with relevant staff members,also attended the special session.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Patras is BUCT’s second Confucius Institute, following the Confucius Institute at the University of Miskolc in Hungary. It represents a significant initiative by BUCT to strengthen educational and cultural exchanges and cooperation with Greece, foster friendly relations, and promote China-Greece cultural dialogue.
