On April 28, an eight-member delegation from Diponegoro University, Indonesia—led by President Suharnomo (SE, M.Si), Board Chair Mohammad Nasir (M.Si, Akt), and Vice President Wijayanto—visited Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT). Liu Guiqin, Party Secretary of BUCT, welcomed the guests and participated in the ensuing talks.

Liu Guiqin’s Address
Liu Guiqin extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of our university. He emphasized that BUCT upholds the principles of “openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation” and expressed the hope that, through joint research and deepened academic exchanges in engineering technology, environmental science, and related fields, the two universities will forge a comprehensive partnership. He also underscored the importance of advancing cooperation in student and faculty exchanges and international education, creating more development opportunities for young people from both nations. Noting that this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, he highlighted the special and far-reaching significance of signing this agreement. He expressed hope that this partnership would set a benchmark for higher education collaboration between the two countries and yield substantial outcomes.
Suharnomo’s Address
President Suharnomo expressed heartfelt gratitude for meticulous arrangements made by our university. He described the visit as a natural outcome of the friendly ties between China and Indonesia. Valuing this exchange opportunity, Diponegoro University looks forward to learning about China’s and BUCT’s advanced educational philosophies and practices, and to sharing its own experience and expertise to further enhance collaboration between the two institutions.

Members of the Indonesian delegation outlined Diponegoro University’s efforts and accomplishments in nurturing high-caliber talent, integrating theory with practice, and advancing internationalization.
Signing of Framework Cooperation Agreement
In a cordial and enthusiastic atmosphere, Liu Guiqin and Suharnomo signed the framework cooperation agreement between the two universities. This meeting and signing ceremony established a robust foundation for deeper collaboration between our university and Diponegoro University. Both sides affirmed that they would seize this opportunity to jointly advance cooperation in talent development, scientific research, and cultural exchange, thereby contributing to the flourishing of education in both countries.
