The Signing Ceremony of the 2+2 Undergraduate Dual-Degree Program Agreement between BUBT and BEU


On the afternoon of April 17, 2025, the signing ceremony for the 2+2 Dual-Degree Program Agreement between Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) and Baku Engineering University (BEU) of Azerbaijan was held online. President Tan Tianwei of BUCT and President Yagub Piriyev of BEU attended the ceremony. Li Qifang, Party Secretary of the School of International Education, presided over the event.

President Tan Tianwei delivered a speech on behalf of BUCT, introducing the university’s history and its mission as a “Double First-Class” institution. He highlighted the university’s achievements in advancing educational internationalization and its efforts to build an “open BUCT.” He stated that the signing of the 2+2 dual-degree program agreement with BEU marked a significant step in talent cultivation innovation between the two universities. The collaboration aimed to elevate the level of educational internationalization and support the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. Both parties will work together to train high-quality talent in chemical engineering and explore dual-degree programs in additional disciplines, deepening international cooperation in industry, academia, and research. He concluded by expressing gratitude to all partners and extended an invitation for future visits from BEU to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two institutions.

President Yagub Piriyev spoke on behalf of BEU, emphasizing that the agreement represents not only a key milestone in academic development but also a vital link for cooperation between the two nations. He underscored the role of education as a bridge for cultural exchange, noting that this collaboration will provide a platform for students from both countries to learn and engage, fostering cultural integration. Piriyev praised BUCT’s academic excellence and educational expertise, expressing optimism that the partnership would cultivate exceptional talent with global perspectives and innovative skills. He viewed this agreement as the beginning of broader collaboration across various fields, contributing to the educational and scientific advancement of both nations. He also invited BUCT faculty and students to visit BEU and thanked BUCT for offering educational opportunities to Azerbaijani students.

Under the observation of both parties, President Tan Tianwei and President Yagub Piriyev, along with university representatives, signed the 2+2 Dual-Degree Program Agreement between BUCT and BEU.

The signing of this agreement marks another milestone in the partnership between the two universities, signaling a new phase in their collaboration in education and research. It brings fresh momentum to their joint efforts and lays a solid foundation for future initiatives in talent development, academic exchanges, and scientific research.
