On April 14, a delegation from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, visited our university. President Tan Tianwei attended the symposium and delivered a speech. The delegation was led by Vice-Rector for Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Economic Cooperation Tomislav Josip Milinarić. Vice-Rector for International and Inter-Institutional Cooperation Jurica Pavičić and Vice-Rector for Research and Graduate Education Dubravko Majetić also participated in the visit.
Tan Tianwei’s Address
President Tan Tianwei extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of our university. He provided a detailed introduction to our university’s development journey, its key disciplines, and its achievements and highlights. He also reviewed the cooperation between the two universities over the years and expressed his hope that both sides would further deepen their cooperation, expand the areas of exchange, and jointly cultivate high-quality talents with an international perspective and innovative spirit in the future.
Tomislav Josip Milinarić’s Address
Milinarić first expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by our university. He then stated that, as the largest university in Croatia, the University of Zagreb places great importance on cooperation with Chinese universities. The purpose of this delegation’s visit is to strengthen the exchange and cooperation between the two universities and to explore opportunities for collaboration in scientific research and talent cultivation.
During the meeting, both sides introduced their faculties and discussed future cooperation.
The deans and experts from multiple faculties of the University of Zagreb, including Transportation, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Communication and Architecture, Geotechnical Engineering, Textile Technology, Mining, Geological and Petroleum Engineering, Graphic Arts, Civil Engineering, and Forestry and Wood Technology, participated in the meeting. From our university, the participants included Dean Cheng Daojian from the College of Chemical Engineering, Dean Wang Weimin from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Executive Dean Liu Guangqing from the Institute of Belt and Road Global Cooperation Research, and Director Zhuang Yibing from the Department of Art.
