On December 3, the 2024 award ceremony of the Ho Leung Ho Lee(HLHL) Foundation was held in Beijing. Professor Li Qunsheng from the School of Chemical Engineering of BUCT who is also Director of the Mass Transfer and Separation Engineering Research Center and Director of "Integrated Circuit High-Purity Chemicals" Engineering Research Center under the Ministry of Education, was awarded the "Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Innovation Award" for his outstanding contributions in the field of high-purity chemicals. This honor not only recognizes Professor Li Qunsheng's personal research achievements, but also highly acknowledges his long-term commitment to solving the "bottleneck" problems in China's chip industry.
Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation was established on March 30, 1994 by the patriotic financial industrialists Ho Sin Hang, Leuang Kaui Kui, Ho Tim, and Sir Quo-wei Lee to honor outstanding scientific and technological workers in China in a bid to promote China’s development in science and technology, advocate respect for knowledge, talent and science and encourage scientific and technological workers to continuously challenge new heights on the road to accelerating China’s modernization. The Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation awards three prizes annually: the "Science and Technology Achievement Award", the "Science and Technology Progress Award", and the "Science and Technology Innovation Award". Of the three, the "Science and Technology Innovation Award" is given to outstanding scientists and technicians who have made high-level scientific and technological achievements, and created significant economic and social benefits through technological and management innovations.
