University of Tolima in Colombia Visits BUCT


A delegation from University of Tolima led by Omar Albeiro Mejia Patiño, President of University of Tolima, paid a visit to Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) on April 23. Tan Tianwei, President of BUCT received the delegation and the exchange meeting was presided by Feng Jianghong, Deputy Director of BUCT International Exchange and Cooperation Department.

Tan Tianwei extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He pointed out that University of Tolima was the first university in Colombia that visited BUCT. It is hoped that the two universities can bring their respective advantages in academic and talent cultivation fields to the full and further enhance communication between students and teachers and deepen the cooperation regarding scientific research and talent cultivation in order to construct a more comprehensive and higher-level international cooperation partnership.

President Patiño extended his heartfelt thanks to the warm reception given by BUCT and expressed his great admiration for BUCT’s achievements over the years. He pointed out that high-level exchange programs for students and teachers were expected to promote the scientific and cultural exchanges and communication between the two universities. It is hoped that the two universities can continue their sincere and strong cooperation on both the educational and scientific research aspects and actively expand new cooperation fields in the future.

Feng Jianghong introduced BUCT’s development and the international cooperative programs. Participants from both sides had an in-depth exchange of views and reached an intention to cooperate on aspects of interest such as expanding and deepening mutual visits and exchanges between teachers and students.
