On March 6th, a delegation from Nantes Université of France , headed by Prof. Benoît Journé, Director of Management Department at the School of Economics and Management, and Hélène Journé, Director of The International French Chinese Management Centre, visited Beijing University of Chemical Technology and was received by Liu Guiqin, Secretary of the CPC BUCT Committee.
Liu extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefed on the guests BUCT’s implementation of its “14th Five-Year Plan” as well as its configuration of disciplines that is strong in engineering, robust in science, flourishing in arts and humanities and supportive to interdisciplinary studies. He also expressed hopes that exchanges and cooperation between the two universities would be further strengthened and carried out timely, especially in disciplines of humanities and social sciences such as economics, management, literature, law, and arts.
Appreciating the warm reception, Benoît Journé expressed on behalf of Nantes Université that they attach importance to the cooperation and look forward to launching corresponding programs as soon as possible and refining details on the basis of the initially signed framework of partnership agreement.
After that, a meeting was held between the delegation and heads of BUCT International Exchange and Cooperation Department and the School of Economics and Management. The two sides exchanged views about the partnership agreement, especially on matters of student exchange, joint training, teacher exchange and research cooperation and reached a consensus on carrying out substantive collaboration that is multi-tiered and of higher quality.
After the meeting, Benoît Journé delivered two lectures respectively to the faculty and students from BUCT School of Economics and Management and College of Humanities and Law: Nuclear Safety and Emergency Response Mechanisms for Nuclear Risks and “International Nuclear and Radiation Safety and Environmental Governance. The delegation was also accompanied for a tour of the Changping campus including a stop at BUCT-History Museum.
Nantes Université’s visit to BUCT plays a significant role in promoting exchange and cooperation between BUCT and European universities in the fields of humanities and social sciences. It serves as an important step in implementing BUCT’s global development strategy and building a new and embracing education pattern of global vision that is all-dimensional, multi-level, and wide-ranging.
