BUCT Delegation Visits Four European Universities



During December 3-10, 2023, a delegation led by BUCT's Vice President Gan Zhihua paid visits four european Universities of Aug**urg in Germany as well as the University of Genoa, University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and Roma Tre University in Italy, having in-depth exchanges on how to drive bilateral cooperation in specialties of cultural relics preservation and law, including teacher and student exchanges and collaboration on scientific research.


During December 3-4, the delegation visited the University of Aug**urg in Germany, talking with Professor Thomas M. J. Möllers, a renowned jurist, about the collaboration in the specialty of law between the two universities on joint student training, teacher exchange and scientific research. Then, the delegation looked around the campus, and admired the precious ancient books collected by the university, exchanging views on how to preserve ancient books and cultural relics.

On the afternoon of December 4, the 1st Forum for Young Lawyers in Europe and China & Academic Seminar themed "New Developments in EU, German and Chinese Laws" was grandly held. On behalf of BUCT, Gan Zhihua spoke at the opening ceremony,fully affirming the significance of the forum to promoting China-Europe exchanges in terms of law, and inviting the participating young talents in the area of law to pursue a career at BUCT. Associate Professor Li Chao from the College of Humanities and Law of BUCT delivered a keynote report at the forum.

On December 6, the delegation visited the University of Genoa in Italy, engaging in talks with the representatives of the university, including Professor Paola·Dameri, vice president in charge of international affairs.Both sides fully recognized the achievements they have made in the last decade in joint student cultivation, and expressed the hope to deepen the bilateral cooperation on student and teacher exchanges in the future. Furthermore, the two sides agreed to further expand the scope of joint talent training between the two universities, and boost the collaboration on talent cultivation and academic exchanges in terms of cultural relics preservation.

On December 7, the delegation paid a visit to University of Rome "Tor Vergata", meeting with Professor Riccardo Cardilli, Director of the university's Center for Eurasian Studies and a prestigious jurist in Italy. The two sides said the exchanges between China and Italy, both countries with an ancient civilization, particularly those between their universities, are of great importance. They agreed to establish ties through the visit, fostering the future cooperation between the two universities on talent training and academic exchanges, and also talked much about students exchange, joint student cultivation and collaboration on scientific research.

On the same day, the delegation visited Roma Tre University in Italy, and was warmly received by Associate Professor Armida Sodo, Professor Giancarlo Della Ventura, Professor Luca Tortora and Professor Giulia Caneva. The two sides respectively introduced their research on cultural relics preservation technologies and their laboratories, exchanging views about the technologies used to preserve cultural relics, and reaching a preliminary cooperation intention on the academic exchanges between teachers of the two universities. After the talk, the delegation was shown around the laboratory in the charge of Associate Professor Armida Sodo, Professor Giancarlo Della Ventura and Professor Luca Tortora.

Accompanying the visit were Zhang Liang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the College of Humanities and Law of BUCT, Associate Professor Han Peize from the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Cultural Relics Science and Technology, and Associate Professor Li Chao from the Department of Law, College of Humanities and Law of BUCT.
